Growing your own is a great option for people that have been consuming on a budget. Going to the dispensary can be costly, and so can the black market. We personally advise doing things yourself for many reasons aside from financial gains. For instance, black market growers can use harsh chemicals and growth hormone regulators, which are harmful to humans.

 

With that being said, you rarely know where your product is coming from and by the time it makes it to the consumer, it can be harmful or past its date of freshness. Legal grows can come with their own issues as well. Attention to detail can be more difficult with large facilities, and the end result will tend to show. You rarely get large buds, the trichomes can be damaged, or in some cases, shaken off before the consumer gets a chance to smoke it.

 

Even though the legal market is more regulated, you still can find plants that have been grown with harsh chemicals to grow larger buds faster, to  keep company profits high. It must be mentioned that not all legal cannabis companies do this, but it is a known issue in the industry which could take a while to change.

There is something to be said about self sufficiency and it gives a sense of pride when you step into your grow space and see a room full of happy, healthy plants. To some, it’s therapeutic and you can get a sense of what the plants want and need. In return, it's almost as if they sense your wants and needs as well.
